Hi i have a problem with a usb 3.0 4 port hub.I sent a request to the sellers of the product, but they couldnt help other than send me another hub.I'm not shure that will help......so i'm asking you......
i bought the hub on ebay. '4 Fach Ports USB 3.0 Hub Verteiler mit On/Off Switch Laptop Desktop PC'
below is the communication i had withthe seller of the hub,it explains my problem with the hub......i hope someone can help...
Hi: i plugged in the device , and it works good when i plug a thumb drive into it. i have a 8gb,16gb,and a 64gb thumb drive.they all work good when plugged in to your usb hub. my problem is when i plug my 2tb wd 'my passport' portable external hard drive into the usb hub ,with the switch in the off position ,and then press the on switch the hub does not recognize the connection. the light on the h.d. lights up , but the computer does not show any signs of recognition. no check mark in the taskbar to remove usb device. no drive letter in 'my computer' window.
i can toggle switch on the usb hub with no change on pc. the light on the external h.d does blink but nothing else happens.
if i plug the usb from the h.d into the hub with the switch in the on position it works most of the time, but not allways. then i can bypass the usb hub entirely and the external h.d. works fine.
when i try to use the hub all the lights and switches on the usb hub work, but the hub wont allow the p.c. to recognize the wd 2tb external hard drive.....please help! THANKS BARRY BOOTHMAN THIS IS ANOTHER OBSEVERATION I HAVE MADE:the external hard drive will work;if the hub switch is in the on position when i plug the cable from the h.d into the hub.but if the cable from the h.d. is allready plugged into the hub when i switch it on; the pc will not recognize the external hard drive ....BB THEN THEY RESPONDED:
'Sorry for bad news. We could resend a new one to you. But you need to turn on the button first then plug in the usb. but it will stay the same. How do you want to solve it? pls advise.' THEN I TOLD THEM:
YES I COULD SIMPLY PUSH THE BUTTON FIRST AND THEN PLUG IN THE USB;BUT THAT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE SWITCH IN THE FIRST PLACE......I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE 2TB EXTERNAL 3.0 HD AND MY P.C. ,ON AND OFF WITHOUT PHYSICALY MOVING THE PLUG....THE PURPOSE OF THE SWITCH IS TO ELIMINATE THAT PROCEDURE....THERE MUST BE SOME WAY TO TWEAK THE DRIVER ,OR SOMETHING IN THE SOFTWARE. I CAN PLUG A 16GB THUMB DRIVE INTO THE HUB, THEN PUSH THE BUTTON,AND IT WORKS FINE,THEN I CAN CLICK THE EJECT BUTTON ON THE P.C., THEN PUSH THE HUB BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF AND IT WORKS FINE, WITHOUT REMOVING THE USB PLUG.THIS PROCESS CAN BE REPEATED OVER AND OVER WITHOUT A PROBLEM.IT JUST WONT WORK WITH THE 2TB EXTERNAL 3.0 HARD DRIVE. PLEASE HELP!...BB
I hope you can understand my problem and find a solution.
Thanks
